What claiming a bay means
You are saying the bay is yours, and that it is what it says it is.
Claiming a bay connects that simulator to your SGA account. It is for a bay you personally own — one in your home or garage. You do not need to own a bay to play on it: shots you hit anywhere are already on your record when you scan into the bay with the on-screen or posted code.
If you run bays as a business, claim them to a commercial bay account instead. See commercial bays.
What you are asserting
- You own the bay, or you are authorized by its owner to manage it.
- The equipment in it is what it reports itself to be, and you have not altered what it measures or how it reports.
- You will not knowingly submit rounds that were not played as recorded.
What it does
- Rounds played on the bay from the moment you claim it become eligible to count toward player ratings and events. A claim counts from when it was made, never before: rounds the bay recorded before you claimed it, or after you release it, stay on record but never count.
- You receive notices about the bay when its equipment needs attention. How they reach you is set with the rest of your notification choices in your account, under “Bays you own”.
- The bay is listed under your account, where you can rename it or release it at any time.
What it does not do
- Owning a bay does not raise what its equipment can attest to. An unclaimed bay's devices are capped at attestation A0; claiming lifts that cap only as far as the equipment can actually demonstrate. Levels A2 and A3 require a certified bay whose equipment matches the level claimed.
- Releasing a bay does not retract rounds already played on it. What was true when a round was played does not stop being true when the room changes hands.
Ending it
You can release a bay at any time from your account, and we may end a claim where a bay is found to be misreporting, where the assertions above turn out not to hold, or at the request of its actual owner. We will tell you why.
Changes
These terms carry a version, and the version you accepted is recorded against your claim. If they change materially we will ask you to accept the new version rather than applying it quietly.
